Mount Kun Expedition (7077 M | 23218 Ft) itinerary
Day 1: ARRIVE DELHI
Arrive Delhi Airport Welcome to India- a country where hospitality is a way of life; to a culture steeped in tradition, a land where history lives in music and dance. You will be received at the airport by our representative and transfer to hotel for check in and overnight stay.
Day 2: DELHI
Today after breakfast at hotel proceed to Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) New Delhi to complete some formalities and attend expedition briefing with IMF Director and Liaison Officer of the expedition. Overnight stay in Delhi at hotel.
Meal: Breakfast
Day 3: DELHI - LEH (3524 M)
Morning after an early breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport to board flight to Leh. Arrive Leh and check-in the hotel. Rest of the day free for acclimatization. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Day 4: LEH
Morning after breakfast, we will take you to a hike for Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace. Rest of the day free for acclimatization or your can also do some shopping in Leh for the expedition. Evening you can walk down to the nearest market on your own or spend some time at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: LEH - KARGIL (2676 M)
After breakfast, 230kms drive to Kargil, Lunch Enroute. Upon arivel check in the hotel for overnight stay. This will be our last hotel stay before the expedition where you can get wifi and Internet.

Day 6: KARGIL - SHAFAT NALA (4000 M)
Morning after breakbast complete the forimilaties and paperwork in Kargil with local govt. offices and than drive to Shafat nala via Parkachik. Upon arrival, set up the camp for overnight stay at Shafat nala at Suru valley. Overnight stay in tent.

Day 7: SHAFAT NALA - BASE CAMP (4400 M)
Morning after breakfast start your trek to Base camp of Mt. Kun. We will cross the brige on Suru river and than walk upto moraine continue crossing rough glacial terrain to base camp. This involves 5-7 hrs walking. Set up the base camp for overnight stay.

Day 8 to Day 20: BASE CAMP - KUN 7077M SUMMIT - BASE CAMP
Next 12-13 days from day 08 to day 20 will be climbing days establish higser camp and Summit Mt. Kun (7, 077 M) and descend down to Base camp.
Meals: All Meals including high Altitude food
Day 21: BASE CAMP - SHAFAT NALA - KARGIL
Morning after breakfast trek back to Shafat Nala and than drive to Kargil. Check in the hotel for overnight stay.
Meals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Day 22: KARGIL - LEH
Today we will drive back from Kargil to Leh approv 5 Hrs drive. Upon arrivel check in the hotel for overnight stay.
Meals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Day 23: LEH - DELHI
Morning check out from hotel and transfer to Leh airport to catch the flight to Delhi. Arrival in Delhi transfer to IMF Delhi for (De-briefing) with IMF Director. Later drive to hotel for check in and overnight stay. We will also have a fairwell dinner at Delhi.

Day 24: DELHI - DEPART
Morning after a relaxed breakfast we will take you to IGI airport for Departure.

Q-1 What is the main attraction to take this trekking trip?
Ans: Kun is a very accessible 7000 meters-high peak in India. This expedition is good if you have previously been to the top of 6000 meters before, and wish to push your limits further!
Q-2 What are the best months for this trip?
Ans: The best time to go on this trekking trip is from June to September.
Q-3 What attractions can be explored nearby this place?
Ans: There are many interesting places to visit in the Leh-Ladakh region while you are on this trip. During the acclimatization period, you can wander around the city and visit the monasteries; Diskit Gompa Monastery and Lamayuru. Drive to the Magnetic Hill, and witness the magical magnetic phenomenon on the hill. The splendid Nubra Valley will leave you spellbound.
In the oasis villages with trees, monasteries, and ruined palaces of Turtuk and Bordang; you will see a completely different culture inthis place. It is 150 kilometers from the Leh region. You can opt for a shared taxi for this route. You also cannot leave Ladakh without witnessing the grandeur of the Pangong Lake, the emerald green lake! Also, you must visit the Gurdwara Pathar Sahib and the Leh Royal Palace.
Q-4 Is there any previous hiking experience needed for this trek?
Ans: A basic climbing course is recommended, but not required, for those who have already explored any 6000 metershigh summit without walking. At least, five challenging treks totaling 30-days of hiking in the Himalayas! A certificate of medical fitness would be needed from any accredited CMO of a well-recognized hospital.
