Overview

Mount Kosciuszko, situated in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, stands as the highest point in Australia, reaching an elevation of 2,228 meters above sea level. Despite being the smallest contender among the peaks in the Seven Summits list, this charming trekking destination holds a significant allure.

Although renowned as a bustling ski resort in the winter, Mt Kosciuszko equally draws hikers and mountain bikers during the warmer months of summer. Its main claim to fame lies in its varied walking paths, all leading to the summit of Australia's tallest peak, affording awe-inspiring vistas of the expansive Kosciuszko National Park. Referred to as Mount Kosciuszko (pronounced Kos-ee-oss-ko), this summit, attainable as a day hike from town, beckons with well-maintained and enjoyable trails.
