Mount Saser Kangri - I Expedition (7672 M)

Overview

Saser Kangri is a group of mountains in eastern Karakorum range of Ladakh union territory of Nubra valley. Saser Kangri means Yellow Peak in local luggage of Ladakh, Saser means Yellow and Kangri means snow covered peak. This group has five summits that is, Saser Kangri-I (7672 M), Saser Kangri-II (7518 M), Saser Kangri-III (7495 M), Saser Kangri-IV (7416 M)  and Plateau (7287 M). Saser Kangri measured one of the technically difficult peak in India which was successfully climbed first time in 1973. Till 2012 Saser Kangri-II was second highest unclimbed peak in the world. Indian mountaineering foundation and MHA only allow joint expedition as exclusive foreign expedition is not allowed in this region.
