Goechala Trek, Kanchenjunga 2024 itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Welcome to Delhi - a city where hospitality is a way of life; to a culture steeped in tradition, a land where history lives in music and dance. Our airport representative will receive you at the airport in a traditional manner with garlands and proceed to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Delhi – Bagdogra – Darjeeling
Morning after breakfast Fly to Bagdogra with your trek leader and drive 70 km to Darjeeling (2045 Mt); This Place is famous across the world for its Tea, the town is also well known for its toy train from Siliguri to Darjeeling which is now a UNESCO world heritage site. Enroute lunch will be provided in the restaurant, Afternoon reach at hotel rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight stay in hotel at Darjeeling.

Day 3: Darjeeling (2045 M)
Early Morning wake up and drive to Tiger Hill Viewpoint, get ready to experience a sunrise like never before a great view of the Himalayan range during sunrise, on your way back visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop, later come back to the hotel. after breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Ropeway and Japanese Temple – Peace Pagoda. Afternoon enjoys the ride of Darjeeling toy train. Evening free for shopping or leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 4: Darjeeling – Yuksum (1780 M)
Morning after breakfast get ready for Drive to Yuksum, During drive you will see a lot of tea garden, we will stop for photographs, Due to construction of road duration of travel will be increase, Inroute we will stop for Lunch at the border of Sikkim and West Bengal, while you having lunch your tour leader take inner line permit for trekking. After lunch, we will Continue the drive to Yuksum. Yuksum was the first capital of Sikkim also the base for Kanchenjunga Trek, Overnight stay in the guest house.

Day 5: Yuksum 1,780m - Bhakim (2,743m)
The morning after breakfast, Trek leader and guide brief you about the trek, yak (DZO) carrying your luggage during the trek. Although the trek starts from the market area, the trail then goes along the outskirts of Yuksom. You will get your permits at the Kanchenjunga National Park check-post on the way, Start the first-day trek to reach Bhakim (2,743 m). It’s an uphill trek through dense bamboo bushes and forest. The trek crosses numerous streams En-route. After about 6 & half hours from Yuksom (14kms), you will reach the forest bungalow at Bakhim. Overnight stay in Shikhar Trekking tent.

Day 6: Bhakim (2,743m) – Phedang (3,230)
Trek to Phedang along a well-marked track through thick Rhododendron forest, bamboo bushes. The trek is a gradual climb for the most part. Dzongri offers a fantastic view of the Kanchendzonga range of mountains and Mt. Pandim. you will be passing through a dense forest of rhododendron trees. If it rains, the trail here can get quite muddy and difficult for a trek. Overnight stay in trekkers hut / Shikhar Trekking Tent.

Day 7: Phedang (3,230) -Dzongri (4050 M)
Today after breakfast move for Dzongri. You will pass by varieties of rhododendrons that bloom in spring. Dzongri a place which is also known as "The meeting place god and nature" Overnight stay in Shikhar Trekking tent.

Day 8: Dzongri – Thansing (4030 M)
The morning after breakfast Trek to Thansing (4030 m). You can have a fantastic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Pandim, Mt. Kabru etc. from the Dzongri Pass. The trek is steep descent in the beginning and gentle ascent till Thansing. The trek passes through Rhododendron bushes. Overnight stay in Shikhar Trekking tent.

Day 9: Thansing – Lamuney
Morning after breakfast trek to Lamuney, today it is short trek around 5 kms. You will easily cover it for 2/3 hrs. Camping is not allowed after this place due to some religious reason. Lamuney is in the base of Pendim peak. Our kitchen staff will provide you Tea and Snacks, after little relax, we will go for little hiking/ Acclimatisation at Samity Lake (01 Hrs Trek) a wonderful deep lake with crystal clear greenish blue water surrounded by gorgeous mountains. If you are lucky you will see mountain sheep. Overnight stay in Shikhar Trekking tent.

Day 10: Lamuney - Gochala (ViewPoint 01 4570M) - Lamuney
Today early morning approx 02:00 Am our Guide/Sherpa will assist you, it will take 3-4 Hrs to reach Goechal, the trek passes over boulder and screes with steep ascent to a small pass, from here you will get a sunrise view of Kanchenjunga peak. After exploring the area, you will be trek down to Samiti Lake and back to Lamuney. After spending some time at Gochala, return to Lamuney for overnight stay. Farewell dinner will be organized in the night. Overnight stay in Shikhar Trekking tent.

Day 11: Lamuney (4085) - Kokchurong (Spare Day)
Morning after breakfast Trek back to Kokchurong via Thansingh. Lunch will be provided in Kokchurong, we will make our tent riverside. Overnight stay Shikhar Trekking tent.
Meals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
Day 12: Kokchurong - Tsoka (3050 M)
Early morning after breakfast we will start our Trek to reach Tsoka (3050 mt). The trek is gradual descent through thick Rhododendron and bamboo bushes. We will walk through deep forest, Lunch will be provided in route, Afternoon you will reach the village of Tsokha where only a handful of Tibetan families live. Overnight stay in Shikhar Trekking Tent.

Day 13: Tsoka - Yuksum
Trek back to reach the Yuksum via Bakhim. (End of Trekking). On arrival check in at hotel for overnight stay.

Day 14: Yuksum - Bagdogra – Delhi
Morning after Breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Bagdogra airport to board the flight to Delhi. Arrive Delhi and check in to the hotel, Farewell Dinner for all the group members will be hosted by Shikhar Travels.

Day 15: Delhi – Departure
Morning after breakfast our cab and airport representative will drop you at Indira Gandhi International Airport.
