Shivling Peak Expedition (6,543M) | Shivling Base Camp Trek -Shikhar Travels
For an experience that combines the sacred in Hinduism with the pristine beauty of the mountains, allow yourself the luxury of the Mount Shivling Expedition. The expedition to Mt Shivling, a beautiful peak which is situated at a height of 6,543 meters, is an absolute pilgrim’s delight as the area resonates with many things sacred and holy in Hinduism. The mountain’s name refers to its similarity with Shiva-Linga, a famous Hindu deity and highly worshipped in India.
Because of its unique Pyramid like conical shape, Mount Shivling has rightly earned for itself the sobriquet of “India Matterhorn” – one of the most famous Swiss peaks in the Alps at a height of 4,478 metres. The similarity could have been even starker had it not been the Shivling’s superior height to its Swiss counterpart, by a generous 2,100 metres extra altitude!
