So, surrender yourself to this breathtaking, once-in-a-lifetime experience with none other than SHIKHAR TRAVELS, the master craftsmen of magnificent experiences!
Commence this marvelous trek of the southern base camp of Mount Everest by flying into picturesque Lukla from Kathmandu, and then proceeding on the 7 km trek to Phakding along the delightful Dudhkoshi river. The mountaineers pass through many small villages nestling in the lap of the mountains, quaint suspension bridges, etc as they trek along this river to Namche, the marketplace for the people of the Khumbu region.
Acclimatizing here at Namche, make great use of your time by hiking to Khumjung and pausing en route to visit the Everest View Hotel for some awesome views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, and many more amazing peaks! Worthwhile visiting Sir Edmund Hillary’s school and hospital at Khumjung and Khunde, while here, before walking down to Namche.
From Namche to Tengboche and the revered religious site – the Tengboche Monastery – at an amazing height of 3,870 meters, which is one of the best vantage points that provide the most magnificent view of the Himalayan giants; Khongde (6,187 m), Tabuche (6,542m), Amadablam (6,812 m), the gigantic Everest itself at 8848.86 m, Nuptse (7,861 m), Lhotse (8,516 m), Kantega and Thamserku.
From Tengboche, you descend to Debuche through the delightful forest of birches, conifers, and rhododendrons, cross the Imja Khola river, then trek on valiantly to Pangboche and Dingboche. From Dingboche, you get some amazing views of Island Peak, Makalu, and the ever-impressive Mt. Andabalam!
Through scenic splendor, steep ascents and descents, through lush forests, and rushing rivers, some of the other memorable places covered in the duration of this marvelous and most memorable trek, are quaint-sounding names like Lobuche, Everest Base Camp, Kalapathar, etc. In some places, the air is rather rarified and so one has to trek slowly. At the Everest Base Camp, you are welcomed with warm-hearted hospitality and can see a small mountain city with lots of colorful expedition tents! It is in Kalapathar, however, that the most spectacular photographs can be taken of Mount Everest and its entire mountain range.
