Day 1 Starts with the Welcome Ceremony at Safdarjung Railway Station, Delhi
The day one was started at the Safdarjung Railway station where Palace on Wheels starts its tour. Here I was retreated with traditional welcomes and processions. The Palace on Wheels team arranged a good concert with traditional music. After all the processions and welcomes by evening I get on board to start my journey with Palace on Wheels.
On Day 2, Proceed to Visit the Pink City, Jaipur
The morning sunrise of Day 2 was seen in Jaipur. It means the day 2 itinerary is Jaipur, the Pink City. We know that Jaipur is a historical significant place for rich heritage values. I experienced their rich heritage touch through their grand welcome ceremony at the station. Really I was amazed at that time. First I visited Albert Hall Museum which is a great site for architectural styles.
Apart from all attractions in Jaipur, Amber Fort visiting is a nice experience to see some wonderful historical attractions. Through jeep ride I explored some beautiful villages around the fort. Later I was taken to Hawa Mahal which is another architect marvel in Jaipur. Finally, my tour in Jaipur was finished after visiting Jantar Mantar and City Palace. At last I reached my board and had dinner.
On Day 3, Experience the Jeep Safari at Ranthambore National Park and Chittorgarh Fort
By early morning may be around 5 or 5:30 AM I was out of Palace on Wheels to see the wildlife attractions of Ranthambore. That day I was very interested to enjoy the wildlife safari for the first time. And I was get on gypsy and the safari was started. To my luck I saw many animals like deer, beautiful birds, and tigers. And my bad luck is I didn’t get the chance to see Bengal Tiger. After the safari, we went to the train and had a delicious breakfast. Later, train was moved to the next destination.
By afternoon, we reached our second destination Chittorgarh. Due to afternoon, we had our lunch on the board. After lunch with a short break we reached Chittorgarh Fort a beautiful fort with captivating scenic views. I get some information about the fort’s history from the locals. And the light and sound show at the fort is also a good memorable thing. Finally, again we are back to the train to sleep.

On Day 4, Experience the City of Lakes, Udaipur
By the day 4, we reached Udaipur popularly known as the “City of Lakes”. The city is very beautiful with scenic attractions and greenery. Here I feel very relaxed with the serene natural attractions around me. After a delicious breakfast on board we are out to see the city’s attractions.
The day started for me in this city with the Saheliyon-Ki-Bari means a wonderful and famous garden in Udaipur. Later, we are head to Lake Palace which is the major attraction of the city and I went for a boat ride on Lake Pichola, for me its an unforgettable experience. At the banks of Lake Pichola there is an architect marvel City Palace which is another important tourist attraction shouldn’t miss.
After visiting Lake Pichola, I went to visit Fateh Sagar Lake. It’s also a beautiful place to see. And for shopaholics, Udaipur is the best place. I felt very happy to visit Udaipur with the Palace on Wheels after enjoying all these attractions.
Day 5 Starts by exploring the Golden City, Jaisalmer
After enjoying the beautiful scenic attractions in Udaipur we reached Jaisalmer, the desert city. The Golden City, Jaisalmer is a well-known city in Rajasthan. I was completely in shock when I reached the place. Because the place is so different and weird among from all the places. After visiting this place I understood why Jaisalmer is called the Golden city. The complete city looks like in gold aura.
After we visited Gadisar Lake a beautiful place in Jaisalmer with numerous tourist attractions like small shrines. Later we reached the might Jaisalmer Fort in the middle of the Thar desert. It’s a gigantic fort with beautiful and unique architectural styles. I was shocked how the construction of the fort had taken place which is located in the middle of the desert. And I was very interested to shop here because things here are very interesting and attractive to buy. I purchased some wonderful souvenirs. My experience in this desert city was unforgettable.
Amidst the Blue City, Jodhpur on Day 6
By day 6, we reached another important tourist destination of Rajasthan Jodhpur, the Blue City. After a delicious breakfast, we are out of the train to see the wonders of Jodhpur. First I started my day experience in Jodhpur with the majestic Mehrangarh Fort. Everything in the fort is a wonder and marvel to see from small miniature works to a gigantic one.
After visiting Mehrangarh Fort, at the foothills of Mehrangarh Fort, there is another architect marvel Jaswant Thada. It is a beautiful white marble cenotaph and here you can see Rajput kings memories. And finally, I experienced the streets of Blue City completely in a blue aura. Roaming on streets with surrounding blue aura is a memorable thing in my life. For photographers, this city is the perfect place for different ideal spots. After enjoying the attractions of Jodhpur, I reached my board to take rest to enjoy with full energy for the next destination.
Get Ready for a Safari at Bharatpur & Pay a Visit to Agra on Day 7
The day 7 came and the journey also coming to an end. By early morning we reached Bharatpur. And then we are moved to Bharatpur’s famous Bird Sanctuary known as Keoladeo National Park. The bird sanctuary is completely filled with various types of birds. For ornithologists, Keoladeo National Park is the best one to experience.
Later, the train moved to Agra the city of love. After reaching the Agra I was hurried to see the beautiful Taj Mahal. Finally, we are taken to visit Taj Mahal. In the whole journey memorable experience is equal to that moment when I saw the Taj Mahal. After spending some time, we visited the Agra Fort which is a great fort in Agra known for unique and tactical architectural styles. Everything is over and we are back to the train to get pack our bags to exit the journey in the next destination.
On Day 8, Journey Comes to an End, Delhi
After a week-long tour, we reached back to our departure destination Delhi. The seven days journey with the Palace on Wheels crew is completed. The hospitality and royalty of the train will last forever. Every day and every moment on Palace on Wheels is unforgettable.
